Our faculties are not only teacher, they are the mentors and in true sense they are the facilitators for the trainee students. As an added advantage, the learning provided at IBRAD is not only restricted to the class-room. Live projects, work shop and many field works are there to get an insight into the realities of real-world of development which sustains.

MBA offers a balance between theory and practice. True learning comes easily, provides lasting benefit and is readily applicable when faced with real-world challenges. The MBA program of IBRAD school favours the study of real world situations to allow students to develop their adaptability, decision-making especially in the grey areas and analytical skills.

In IBRAD School the teaching methodology used represent one of the most demanding, engaging, and provocative way to learn about the management skills and leadership. The teaching methodology used in IBRAD School equips the students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deal effectively with the wide array of difficult decisions they have to face during their careers. The education students receive at IBRAD School provides a solid foundation that serves them for a lifetime.

The teaching methodology has emphasised that
  • Students play an active role in their own learning experience, with major emphasis placed on classroom intercommunication, teamwork, one-on-one dialog and the sharing of on-the-job expertise and perspectives.
  • In inspirational business games, students are confronted with challenges that commonly occur in the business world. Working in teams, they apply classroom learning towards the mastery of realistic challenges while at the same time generating new ideas and improving their conflict-solving abilities and team skills.
  • With project management being essential to the success of virtually every corporate objective, the academic program is enriched by project work on a regular basis. The focus here is on strategic thinking, goal-driven actions and responsible attitudes.

Foundation program
Prior to commencement of the regular university semester students go through an intense, three-week Foundations program, starting from 15th June of the calendar year, followed by the semester each involving eight required core courses. The objective of the program is to bring the students from various disciplines to a level plane with orientation on basics of mathematics, economics, accountancy and English especially business writing/ communication before setting foot on the actual management studies.

One key requirement of students of IBRAD School is that they be social. First-year students are divided into six groups each comprising of 10 members. Group and team assignments are introduced from Foundation Program. The networking is expected to continue long after completion of the course. Students can count on access to alumni willing to serve as career advisors and mentors, and must be ready, when the time comes, to rovide the same help to others.

Pre class Assignments and Post class assignments
Students have pre class assignments which they have to prepare before they attend the class which allow them a chance to read through the materials and be prepared with their analyses for the class discussion.

After the completion of the class room sessions, students are again given assignments which are to be submitted to the concerned teachers within a specified time frame. This again helps them to recapitulate the topic and develop analytical views.

Case Study
The topics are discussed with a case study approach. Faculty members lead the class discussion and encourage debate between the students. This method is emphasized at IBRAD School and there is a large following of MBA students who believe this is the best way to learn in business school.

Typically, a case study presents an individual - usually a manager - with a real decision to make, background information on the organization and its environment. Students are expected to identify the key issues in the case, use the knowledge earned in the course to evaluate different options, make a reasonable decision and recommend a clear plan of action. It helps transforming a student's potential talent into a powerful capacity for effective decision making.

Lecture
The faculty member introduces and explains the topics. There is usually an opportunity to ask questions and discuss some of the points raised. It helps in clarifying the theories and concepts that students can apply when they re-enter the work force.

Tutorials
Tutorials are more two-way in style than lectures, and allow students to receive feedback on how their work is progressing. They also allow students to discuss with their tutors any difficulties they may be experiencing.

Seminars
Held in small groups, these provide an opportunity for a student to introduce a given topic and to lead a group discussion on that topic. The free flow of ideas produces a stimulating learning environment.

Experiential Learning
Experiential learning involves the application of theory to a real-world business problem. Proponents of this approach believe that it gives the students a "nuts and bolts" training approach to management as well as invaluable networking amongst the management of the company where they are applying their knowledge.

In I BRAD School students are given opportunity to visit and share experiences with the real life practitioners that help in experiential learning.

Group Projects and Group Studies
Students are encouraged to do group projects and group studies. The students are usually expected to do their assignments such as papers, oral presentations and case studies as part of a team and in a collaborative way. This helps them in preparing for the real life situation where they have to tackle diversity.

Stimulating Personal Growth by Encouraging Interaction at different levels
  • With the peer - Students are encouraged to work in group. The group is formed on the first day only. The intensity of group work builds a foundation of trust that enables students to take risks and develop greater confidence. It also helps them in small, cross-section learning through collaborative study and opportunities to test their ideas
  • With the mentors - Each group of students is having mentor (faculty) who facilitates the students in their professional and personal growth.
  • With the faculty - Apart from the regular class room orientation small groups are formed with students who need special attention in any subject and they have intense interaction with the concerned faculty after regular class hours.
  • with professionals and managers - Students are getting opportunity of interaction with the professionals and managers from various organisations through interactive sessions, MDP programs and workshops.

Apart from the semester exmainations conducted by the university at the end of each semester and two slot tests conducted for internal markings as required by the university students are also assessed regualrly in different forms such as

  • Answering four basic questions at the end of each class.
  • Open-book exams ( where students can use reference books in the examination)
